Castiglione della Pescaia and the Maremma.

In the province of Grosseto, Castiglione della Pescaia is one of the most popular seaside resorts in Tuscany, thanks to the presence of many renowned beaches (Spiaggia di Levante e di Ponente, Punta Ala, Cala Violina) that have been awarded several times by Legambiente.

The former fishing village, perched on a promontory of the Maremma coast, is also a fascinating place from a naturalistic and cultural point of view: the old town, with its castle and its walls, is full of history and characterised by narrow streets, churches and villas, while in the new part (the "lower" part) you can go shopping, stroll along the seafront or visit the Diaccia Botrona Nature Reserve, one of the most important wetland areas in Europe. Here we recommend a stop at the multimedia museum housed in the Casa Rossa Ximenes or one of the many guided tours of the ancient ruins and canals, where birdwatching is an exciting experience.

Also in the Grosseto area, Maremma Regional Park (Uccellina Park) is a must-see destination to put on your travel agenda: mountains, wetlands, beaches and cliffs can be explored by foot, bicycle, horseback or canoe.
